pandora radio
To begin, yes, I realize I am one of the last in the blogging realm to mention this wonderful tool on their blog, but I honestly have a good reason, I've never tried it :) Pandora Radio is a radio player on the Internet that does wonderful things. I am really not much of a music girl, I try to be, but I am one of those that get in the car and realize that the radio isn't on an hour later...too much in my head! Anyway, I am always wondering how people find out about good artists other than listening to the same 4 songs on the radio. Well, I've found a way. Last night while editing pictures in the kitchen, I decided that I wanted a tiny break from my two cd's I have in here...really, I am bad when it comes to music. I went to Pandora.com, created an account and made some stations and now I am learning of great new artists and still hearing my favorites.
Here is how it works: you sign up (no fee) and type in an artist or song that you like. Then it magically makes a station for your enjoyment that includes the same feel of the artist or song you entered. For example, some of my favorite stations so far include: Paolo Nutini, James Taylor, David Crowder Band, Nora Jones, Jack Johnson & Michael Buble and I just started last night, so any of you music people that know of things I would like, leave me a comment. I am bound and determined to know of the new people too!
*Oh, and another good feature, you can set it to Quickmix and it will play either all your stations or just the ones you choose, but then you get a good mixture of all of them (and you can skip what you don't like). Very cool.
Anyway, I know you've all read it before, but now I am saying it too, check out Pandora!
